A lot to catch up on...

Because I have so much fun reading other people's blogs, I've decided that it is only fair to share the excitement of my life with the world (or the handful of loved ones who read this :) ) Of course, I decide to begin this blog when there is an incredible amount going on in mine and Paul's life...Let's see, where to begin?

We left Pensacola last Wednesday. It was terribly hard to say goodbye to friends that have become family, but it was time to move on. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the goodbyes, but I knew it would happen eventually. The nice thing is, is knowing that we will make close friends and will have tons of places to visit them around the country and the world.

Anyhow, Paul, Mattingly, Macie, and myself made the trip from Pensacola to Norfolk, in approximately 18 hours...should have been a 14 hour trip but our "caravan" did not allow us to exceed the speed limit (see image for explanation). I would just like to state, for the record, that it was I who got my car on the trailer... Here are some pics from the trip:

We are finally settling in our new house in Norfolk and have spent the last few days unpacking and even painting our new digs...pictures to come. The home is great albeit a few quirks... a few dozen ants and a lukewarm "hot" tub...nothing a little Raid and servicing can't fix right? Despite it's flaws, and lack of an ocean view, the house is perfect for us and the dogs (having a backyard has truly been a life altering experience). We have a lot of room and more storage space than actual items to put into storage...though this will surely change with time as live near a real mall and other shops now! Clearly, I am loving my new home and hope to have visitors soon...hint, hint.

Along with our new home, I also have a new job. I will be teaching kindergarten again in Camp Allen Elementary School. I had the interview today and was offered the job on the spot. I am really excited about it and it seems that most of my students will be from military families...right up my alley :) For curious minds (Linsey and my mom) here is what I wore for the interview: Please disregard the messy cords in the background.

For your viewing pleasure, I will conclude this post with some pictures of Macie enjoying our new yard...she savors the taste of mud. No pictures of Mattingly as he is above frolicking in mud.
